The answers you're looking for may not all be on our website. Here's some information to help you with the most frequently asked questions:
1- Is Le Moulin du Port a hotel? Le Moulin du Port is a bed and breakfast. The owners live on the premises, personally welcome you, and are available to answer your questions or requests. There is no night staff. This is what distinguishes it from a hotel.
2- Does the price of a room include 1 or 2 people? The room rate is the same for 1 or 2 people, except for business travelers.
3- Is breakfast included in the room rate? Breakfast is always included in the rate of the room.
4- Does this bed and breakfast offer a set menu dinner? For organizational reasons, we only offer a set menu dinner to groups occupying at least 3 rooms, from Friday to Monday inclusive. Reservations are required.
5- Is my pet welcome? We love animals, but unfortunately, for hygiene reasons, we cannot allow pets in the rooms.
6- Is this accommodation suitable if I'm traveling by bicycle? We regularly welcome cyclists. Secure bicycle storage is available, as well as a repair kit. Furthermore, we are ideally located on the Loire à Vélo, Cher à Vélo, and Coeur de France à Vélo cycling routes.
7- Is the accommodation suitable if I have a disability? Despite our understanding and support for people with disabilities, the house is old and not adapted for people with reduced mobility.
8- Is there a free car park on site? Our guesthouse offers a very large, secure, and free parking lot on the property.
9- Is Wi-Fi available? Our wifi network works throughout the house, the bedrooms, the common areas as well as the living room and the breakfast room.
10- Is the towel service changed daily? In an effort to be environmentally friendly, we take steps to minimize waste. Towels are changed every 3 days.
11- Are children allowed? Children are welcome in our guest room, under the supervision of their parents.
12- I have 1 or 2 children, but I can't book? Children are charged extra when the room occupies more than 2 people. An additional charge applies per night, depending on the child's age: up to and including 2 years old, free / from 3 to 11 years old inclusive, €20 per night / over 12 years old, €30 per night. Don't hesitate to contact us if you have difficulties to book.
13- Can the rooms accommodate more than 2 people? All our rooms can accommodate at least 1 baby in a travel cot.The GERMAINE and GINETTE rooms can accommodate one additional person.The ALINE room can accommodate a maximum of two additional children, but no adults as the beds are not designed for them.
14- What are the arrival and departure times? Rooms are only available from 5:00 PM onwards, except in exceptional circumstances.We welcome our guests from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM , but not before. Please let us know if you expect to arrive after these hours.Rooms must be vacated by 11:00 AM at the latest.
15- Are the rooms air-conditioned? The building is old and is not air-conditioned. However, the walls are thick, and three rooms (Aline, Thérèse, and Germaine) face due north, which helps maintain a natural coolness if the windows are not opened during the day.The two other bedrooms, located on the south side, have a very efficient and ultra-quiet ceiling fan.The wooden shutters also provide shade from the sun.
16- What are the pool's opening dates? Our outdoor pool is heated and open from June 1st to September 15th. Before or after these dates, the weather conditions are incompatible with our commitment to the environment.
17- Can I charge an electric car on site? We do not have electric vehicle charging points, but we can exceptionally plug in your car for a slow charge using a standard outlet overnight only. This service is subject to a fee.Two charging stations are available in the village square, a 3-minute drive or 10-minute walk away.A fast charging station is available 17 minutes from the house.
18- Are there any eco-friendly practices implemented at the establishment? Yes, absolutely:- We use eco-friendly cleaning products and professional steam cleaners,- We provide glass carafes with Japanese charcoal filters in the rooms,- Our shower gels and laundry detergents are 100% eco-friendly,- We ask our guests not to leave the lights on when they leave their rooms,- We encourage our guests not to let the water run unnecessarily,- We ask our guests to be mindful of the heating in their rooms (set to 20 degrees Celsius),- In 2023, we installed a phytoremediation system using reeds that naturally filter wastewater.
